When going through my dad’s letters, I came across letters from his first wife Alice Wincenc. Not one to share personal information, Dad wouldn’t divulge much information about Alice. But finding the letters was fun.
I remember when I was a teenager having a friend that her and her boyfriend had sappy sweet nicknames for each other. I remember one time being at the gas station and they were talking such gobbly-gook that it made me roll my eyes and want to gag.
Some of the letters between my Dad and Alice were so cute. They were in their thirties, but the nicknames they had for one another were really cute. She was Titi and he was Big Chief William. I contemplated scanning and posting one of their letters, but it felt like I was violating their privacy if I did that. It made me happy though that he had fallen deeply in love and was loved back.
I left a rock on her grave because she was a part of my Dad’s life and I wanted to honor her. Here are some wedding pictures. I know dad had told me where they held the reception, but I cannot find it in my notes and I don’t remember what he said.
